Describe the typical American opinion of monarchy. What does this opinion share with?

Monarchy to me is just another form of government steeped in history.It seems to work for the countries that have them.I think that some people believe that a republican government would be less costly for their countries,but they are mistaken.The US government is very costly and our elected officials are too polarized and too full of themselves to do the work that they were elected to do.
