Friends with benefits?

I have a bestfriend, we've been very close for 2 years already but it was simply platonic relationship. Until one day he kissed me. I did want that to happen, so he kissed me and since then we've been making out. The problem is that I really like him now, but he never speaks to me first on facebook chat- i am always the one who starts the conversations... and it seems like he doesnt like me that much.... what to do ?
