I have a bike trail in my yard, and it is basically all mud. Is there any bio-friendly way to soak up the mud?

Bike trail is in central new jersey, basically dirt that has been frozen, thawed, rained on, snowed on, and everything has melted on it. Has been really muddy for a while now, wondering if i could put anything down that could harden the ground and make mud not occur as much or temporarily get rid of the mud so i can ride my trail.
