Could you hav a wild animal for a "pet"?

In most cases, it's not legal, but it depends on the animal. And it's always a really stupid idea. I know you're just asking, but people who keep wild animals as pets really annoy me. They're wild, as in A) unpredictable, and B) not content to live in captivity.
