How does George Wilson and Myrtles relationship fit into this thesis...the great gatsby?

George doesn't trust Myrtle at all. After all, he locks her up in their apartment. It's when Myrtle tries to escape that she gets run over, and due to Myrtle's infidelity, George kills Gatsby. Myrtle hates George because he's not wealthy. Tom offers her all of the things that he can't, and she flaunts this when they're in the city.
